Communications
Hello!!
The official method for communicating with WPML is via the privately owned and managed website. This website has been developed by one of the Directors and is managed jointly by the Communications Committee.
It was set up to be a ‘one stop shop’ for notices, discussion forum, suggestions & to be a file repository for documentation.
The reason why the website is the official method of communicating with the Directors is so that we can issue, up date and store documentations (unlike Facebook). We also didn’t want the communications channel to be run in a similar vein to Facebook which can sometimes be very unpleasant
If you are a homeowner or resident please sign up to the website. You can use an app on your phone to view most news articles, however if you would like to read the documentation (minutes, Accounts, AGM etc ) please use a laptop or tablet so you can view the full content.
The app is available on Google and Apple in the name of ‘Spaces’.
The invite code is: 5UGWAA
This will allow you to keep up to date with news.
There is a ‘lets chat’ facility, where you can leave a private message for a Director, and a ‘Report an issue’ facility where you can raise a concern.
Both of the above will be read by the communications committee and forwarded to the relevant committee/person for a response.
“WP Homeowners & Residents” Facebook page was developed by a few residents of WP, one of whom is a Director. This site is only open to Homeowners and Residents of Wychwood Park and does not allow access to anyone from the surrounding areas.
This forum is not our ‘official’ communicating channel, however as it is only for residents of Wychwood Park, it is a safe area to discuss topics relevant to WP.
It is likely that not all Residents/Directors are members of Facebook.
The Directors will not respond to any comments made on the Facebook page in their official capacity of WPML, however they may join a conversation or make remarks as a private resident.
It is confusing that there are a number of Facebook pages out there which have ‘Wychwood’ in their title but are not restricted to only Wychwood Park residents.
e.g.
‘Wychwood Residents’, ‘Wychwood Community Group’, ‘Wychwood Village & Park Friends’
‘Wychwood Village Hall, Weston & Basford’.
The above ‘Wychwood’ Facebook sites are managed by residents of The Village as well as The Park and permit access from the whole of the surrounding areas including Crewe, Hough and Betley etc.
This is ideal if you want to sell an item or try to find your lost pet, but unfortunately not ideal when discussing something completely private to Wychwood Park (e.g. Security)
“WP Homeowners & Residents”
There are two Notice boards around the Park:
Board 1:
Positioned near to Security. This is owned by WPML and is used to advertise items which are to the benefit of Wychwood Park. It is managed by a volunteer resident.
Board 2:
Positioned at the bottom of Hare Hill on the entrance to Broughton Vale.
This is owned and managed by Hough & Chorlton Parish Council and will display items which they feel relevant.
